MV Eidsvaag Sirius Replacing The Vinland

The M V Eidsvaag Vinland has been crewed and managed by Norcon Marine since 2012. It’s role has been to transport salmon feed from New Brunswick to a valued customer on the South Coast.

A few weeks ago a Norcon crew sailed the vessel across the Atlantic to Norway. Most of crew members are flying back home to Newfoundland this week – Congratulations to them all for a job well done !

First new large vessel built by the Shipyard in over 35 years.

Delivery of the very first 39 foot FRP (fibre reinforced polymer) fishing vessel hull to Burry’s Shipyard took place on Wednesday, February 7th.

This vessel was manufactured for the keel up at Manta Ray Boats, the Burry Shipyard’s FRP facility in nearby Milton.

Attached photo shows the wheelhouse being lifted as the first step in final vessel assembly at the shipyard.

This is the first new large vessel built by the shipyard in over 35 years.

MV Eidsvaag Vinland Heading to Europe

Norcon crew departed Clarenville last week are sailing the M V Eidsvaag Vinland to Europe, having operated the vessel on the south coast for a number of years under contract to Skredding Canada. The vessel has supplied salmon feed to Northern Harvest operations along the coast for a number of years. In short order a newer vessel will be arriving from Europe to continue this vital service — stay tuned for details.

MV Galipolli Refit Progress

Work continues to proceed well with the re-fit of the provincial government’s ‘M V Galipolli’. This is the second provincial ferry to undergo major work at our Clarenville facility in two years. The work was won by competitive bid and it provides much appreciated work for trades personnel in this part of rural Newfoundland.
